Mr. Tom finds exciting opportunities to meet interesting people and be a change-maker everywhere he goes. He is loved by those who receive his gifts and by the donors as well. Here are a few projects he has especially enjoyed. Do you see one you would enjoy as well?

I. Meeting the needs of senior citizens at an adult day care center. I started with giving transportation to those who had none. Then the center learned of my hobby of working with arts &crafts, making greeting cards, hand building clay items, and making ceramics. I began teaching classes there which the older adults found to be great fun. Meals on wheels delivered lunch to many of these wonderful people, but I began to bring them donated cheese, crackers, and baked goods to tide them over. This made a difference in the quality of life for many on fixed incomes.

II. Creating a basketball program at a local school. Children in a local community badly needed a recreational sports program. The small program Mr. Tom started using the facilities of a private school grew to serving 44 teams for 440 children, grades 1-7. This program is still in existence today.

III. Supplying arts and crafts supplies from donors to children in need. I have found generous manufacturers and suppliers who are willing to help underprivileged children. You just have to ask. In 2004 I began serving both Atlanta Ronald McDonald houses, supplying food, arts and crafts. This led to my finding even more donors who supplied arts and crafts supplies to the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs after school, summer, and weekend programs.

IV. Working for missions that support my faith. In 2005, I started supplying Sandy Springs Mission, “Love Thy Neighbor,” and Must Ministries missions with weekly bakery goods.
